About the Opportunity: 

As a People & Culture Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting project and site leadership teams by delivering high‑quality P&C services across the employee lifecycle. This position drives culture, supports workforce capability, leads performance management processes, and oversees key operational functions such as payroll interface and compliance. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide strategic and operational P&C and employee relations support across site‑based teams. 

  • Proactive provision of advice and mentoring to team members, frontline leaders and craft (workforce) personnel in relation to enterprise agreement matters and industrial issues 

  • Subcontractor assessment during tender process and setting the framework for Subcontractor mobilisation and industrial relations compliance 

  • Managing investigations and resolutions of complex employee relations matters in a timely and effective manner 

  • Ability to liaise and build rapport with all levels of a construction workforce 

  • Oversee payroll management activities, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with industrial instruments. 

  • Lead and support performance management processes, including coaching leaders and driving capability improvement. 

  • Coordinate learning and development, mandatory training and site inductions. 

  • Support workplace relations, employment legislation compliance and issue resolution. 

  • Use data and reporting to support decision‑making and improve workforce outcomes. 

  • Foster a strong site culture aligned with CPB’s values and SHE commitments. 

 What We’re Looking For: 

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in P&C / HR generalist roles, ideally within construction or project‑based environments. 

  • Strong capability across performance management, coaching and employee relations. 

  • Experience with payroll processes, award interpretation or workforce compliance. 

  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement skills. 

  • Ability to work autonomously within a fast‑paced site environment. 

  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and P&C best practice.
