The Project

CPB Contractors has been selected by the Queensland Government as managing contractor for stage one of the new Bundaberg Hospital. CPB Contractors will lead the design phase of the project which involves the design of a new six-storey hospital for acute, medical, surgical and mental health services, as well as emergency, clinical support services, and associated infrastructure.

The project is currently seeking experienced Project Engineers in the Structures and Civil space on a Drive-in-drive out roster or relocate to the local area.

As a Project engineer, you will be accountable for effectively coordinating the design, procurement and construction elements for a designated area on the project to ensure safety, time, cost and environmental objectives are achieved.

You will also:

  • Coordinate procurement and construction elements for the designated work area
  • Manage the short- and long-term construction planning for works under control including submittals, start-up planning and programming
  • Assist the Senior Project Engineer in preparing accurate monthly reports
  • Develop and monitor KPI and productivity analysis against program and budget
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to the SHE Cultural Framework, policies, Safety Essentials and Management System requirements and expectations
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirement and all relevant Company and Group policies and processes

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

  • Recognised degree in relevant engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • Manage self and other to deliver work to between $1M and $10M
  • Demonstrated experience in delivery of building construction projects
  • Apply engineering principles to comply with scope of works and technical criteria (SWTC)
  • Demonstrated commercial experience to include planning up to 4 weeks ahead and weekly reporting against cost and time
  • Development of SHEQ process and procedures and management of other in conducting SHEQ process and procedures
