Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.
HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.
The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

Key Accountabilities
As the Senior Document Controller you will play a key role in implementing the CMS Quality Control systems at project and/or tender phases to enable a consistent approach across all new projects aligned with BU and Corporate requirements.
Also, to administer, manage and support the use of TeamBinder across the Business Unit with a focus on training project and tender staff with regards to its use and operation, with an emphasis on working with projects during early stages to implement document control and quality control systems onto the project.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to CPB Contractor’s Quality Principles and Management System requirements & expectations
- Setup and establish electronic document management system (EDMS) on all new projects
- Work with Tender teams in establishing the EDMS for all new tenders
- Train all users including Document Controllers, Engineers and Project teams in the EDMS
- Be the BU Champion for any support/assistance/system updates/working with Corporate TeamBinder and Quality teams.
- Assist and support the startup of all new projects from a quality control perspective – working with early project teams to develop work flows, lots, finalise Quality Management Plan for client approval, development and implementation of Project Management System (PMS), etc
- Assist BU Quality Manager with any Business Unit Quality Controls matters as directed by BU Quality Manager (eg: review and importing of documents into IPKL, BU Quality Audits, etc)
What are we looking for you to bring to the team:
- High School certificate or equivalent experience in Business or Administration
- Tertiary education in Engineering
- 2-5 years’ experience working in a Document Control/Quality Coordinator role.
- Technical competency or detailed understanding in document control
- Attention to detail
- Strong communicator who has skills in training
- Skill in stakeholder communication
- Delegation and decision making skills, e.g. quick thinking and confident in outcome
- Systematic approach to conducting work
