Your opportunity
This is the kind of role where you'll need to balance the big picture with what's happening on the ground. You'll be working with supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants to keep work moving, solve problems as they come up and make sure the project delivers on time and to a high standard.
You'll have plenty of support around you, but you'll also be trusted to make decisions, build relationships and take ownership of outcomes. It's not about sitting behind a desk reviewing reports. It's about understanding what's happening, staying ahead of issues and helping the team navigate the challenges that come with delivering a complex build.
If you enjoy bringing people together, finding practical solutions and seeing a project take shape from start to finish, you'll find this role rewarding.
What you'll be doing
- Keeping a critical part of the project moving and making sure everyone is heading in the same direction
- Working with supervisors, subcontractors and suppliers to stay ahead of issues before they become problems
- Balancing programme, cost, quality and delivery without losing sight of what matters most
- Bringing together design, procurement and site teams to keep things running smoothly
- Having the conversations that need to be had when timelines slip, priorities change or challenges arise
- Making decisions, solving problems and helping the team navigate the inevitable curveballs that come with a major build
- Supporting engineers and site teams while giving them the room to do their best work
- Playing a key role in turning plans on paper into something real
What you'll bring
- Experience delivering large construction projects where you've been accountable for outcomes, not just activities
- A strong understanding of precast, structures or major building packages
- The ability to build trust quickly with subcontractors, suppliers and project teams
- A calm, practical approach when things don't go to plan
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how decisions affect the bigger picture
- The confidence to make decisions and back yourself when it counts
- Strong communication skills and the ability to bring people with you
- Experience on large, complex projects where there are lots of moving parts and competing priorities
About you
You're not the type to sit back and wait for someone else to sort things out.
You like being involved, knowing what's happening and staying close enough to the work to spot issues early. People trust you because you're reliable, straightforward and follow things through.
You've probably built a reputation for getting things done, building strong relationships and keeping projects moving even when things get challenging. You understand that successful projects aren't delivered by one person, but you also know the role a good Project Manager plays in bringing people together and keeping everyone focused on the end goal.
