The Riverina Redevelopment Join Venture is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of exisiting infrustructure facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years.
The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including;
- Albury Wodonga Military Area (AWMA)
- RAAF Base Wagga (RBW)
- Blamey Barracks Kapooka (BBK)
The proposed capital investment of $1.7b will incorporate a variety of elements including:
- Construction of new messing and living in accommodation
- Construction of new training and mess facilities
- Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings
- Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services

Your Opportunity
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of site works. Responsibilities may include monitoring progress against program, resolving engineering and technical challenges, coordinating subcontractors, and supporting cost, quality and schedule outcomes. You will also play an important role in promoting and upholding a strong Zero Harm safety culture.
- Coordinate and manage Building Services subcontractors, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and fire protection trades.
- Conduct weekly coordination meetings and manage interface requirements between building, services and civil work packages.
- Support the Project Engineer in managing design consultants, architects and specialist contractors.
- Review construction drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings and design documentation.
- Manage RFIs, variations, technical queries and construction documentation.
- Monitor project progress against program and identify opportunities to improve delivery outcomes.
- Oversee QA inspections, hold points, testing and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate daily site activities alongside Area Managers and Site Managers.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships during disruptive works on the Defence base.
- Support cost management, forecasting and productivity targets for assigned work packages.
- Promote and uphold a strong Zero Harm safety culture across all project activities.
About You
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
- With at least 5-7 years' experience delivering building construction projects with a head contractor or major contractor environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing Building Services packages, including Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Fire services.
- Experience in multi-storey building construction, fit-out, facades, structural steel, precast or commissioning activities
- High‑quality written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities with the capability to effectively manage, mentor, and guide a team of engineers.
- Skilled in delegating tasks, setting clear expectations, and ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required, with eligibility to obtain and maintain Baseline Security Clearance.
