We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior People & Culture Business Partner to join a major infrastructure project and play a critical role in delivering both people and social impact outcomes.

This is a unique opportunity to establish and lead the People & Culture and Social Impact function on a complex, high-profile project. Working closely with project leadership, you will be responsible for developing the people strategy, driving workforce initiatives, ensuring compliance with Victorian Government requirements, and creating meaningful social outcomes for the communities in which we operate.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Director and partnering closely with the People & Culture advisory hub, you will serve as the dedicated P&C leader for the project, providing strategic and operational support across all aspects of workforce management, employee relations, mobilisation, social impact and government compliance.

Operating in a challenging project environment, you will play a pivotal role in attracting, retaining and supporting a diverse workforce while ensuring the project meets significant government policy obligations and social procurement commitments.

This is a hands-on role requiring a strong HR generalist capability, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence leaders while driving positive workforce and community outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment and delivery of the People & Culture function for a major infrastructure project, supporting workforce mobilisation, project set-up and workforce planning activities.
  • Partner with project leaders to provide strategic and operational advice across employee relations, performance management, succession planning, remuneration reviews and workforce retention initiatives.
  • Drive compliance with Victorian Government policy obligations, including Building Equality Policy, apprenticeships and traineeships, Aboriginal participation, priority jobseekers, social procurement and workforce diversity commitments.
  • Design and implement workforce inclusion, leadership development and social impact programs that support project and community outcomes.
