CPB Contractors, part of the CIMIC Group, is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join the HumeLink West Project. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a landmark transmission infrastructure project that will connect renewable energy generation to communities across New South Wales.
Working on a FIFO 14/7 roster, you'll partner closely with construction and project teams to ensure environmental compliance, drive sustainable project outcomes, and contribute to the successful delivery of this nationally significant project.

About the Role
Reporting to the Environmental Manager, you will provide practical environmental advice and support to site teams while ensuring project activities comply with environmental approvals, legislation, and client requirements.
You will play a critical role in supporting environmental management across all construction activities and promoting a strong environmental culture throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the Project Environmental Management Plan (PEMP).
- Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring activities.
- Provide environmental advice to project engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Assist with environmental incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Monitor environmental performance across construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental approvals, permits, licences, and regulatory requirements.
- Support environmental reporting and record keeping.
- Coordinate environmental monitoring programs including:
- Water quality
- Dust and air quality
- Noise and vibration
- Erosion and sediment controls
- Flora and fauna management
- Waste management
- Facilitate environmental inductions and awareness training.
- Build strong working relationships with project stakeholders, subcontractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Identify opportunities for environmental improvement and innovation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- Degree qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' environmental experience within construction, infrastructure, utilities, renewable energy, or major projects.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation, approvals, and compliance requirements.
- Experience conducting environmental inspections and audits on active construction sites.
- Knowledge of erosion and sediment controls and environmental risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to influence and work collaboratively with operational teams.
- Strong reporting, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Construction White Card (or ability to obtain).
