We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join a major healthcare infrastructure project based in Albury, NSW.
This is a key project leadership role responsible for driving safety performance across all construction activities while ensuring compliance with company systems, project requirements, and legislative obligations.
The successful candidate will work closely with project leadership teams to promote a strong safety culture and support the successful delivery of this significant healthcare project.
This is a site-based position and would suit either an experienced Safety Manager or a highly capable Senior Safety Coordinator ready to step into a leadership role.
About the Role
Reporting to the Project Leadership Team, the Safety Manager will be responsible for leading all health and safety initiatives on site, ensuring compliance with company standards and fostering a proactive safety culture throughout the project.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CPB Contractors' Safety Management Systems and previous experience working on major building projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and continual improvement of project safety management systems.
- Promote and drive a positive safety culture across the project.
- Provide expert safety advice and support to project management and construction teams.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Lead incident investigations and corrective action management.
- Monitor safety performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate risk assessments, SWMS reviews, and safety planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation, project requirements, and company procedures.
- Manage safety reporting and project safety documentation.
- Develop strong working relationships with subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Mentor and support project safety personnel.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Safety Manager capacity within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction safety management systems and legislative requirements.
- Previous experience delivering safety outcomes on major building or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with operational teams and subcontractors.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Relevant safety qualifications (Certificate IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Degree in WHS or related discipline).
- Construction White Card.
Highly Regarded
- Previous experience with CPB Contractors Safety Management Systems.
- Experience working on large healthcare, commercial, or major building projects.
- ICAM or equivalent investigation training.
