CPB Contractors in joint venture with UGL and supported by EIC, fellow CIMIC Group companies, is proud to be driving the ground-up development of a multi-megawatt data centre in Truganina in the western suburbs of Melbourne. As the trusted delivery partners for a global digital infrastructure platform, we will be frontiering mission critical facilities and infrastructure. The 80 MW data centre will consist of two adjoining 40MW buildings featuring complex internally integrated electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fire protection, ICT and security​ systems. Construction will also involve extensive external inground services works, modular electrical equipment including HV / Fire protection facilities construction and civil finishing works​.

Your opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead project planning and scheduling activities across a portfolio of major infrastructure and construction projects. This is a key leadership position responsible for driving project controls, programme performance, and schedule optimisation throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with project directors, delivery teams, engineers, commercial specialists, and stakeholders, you will ensure project schedules are robust, accurate, and aligned with delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, maintenance, and management of integrated project schedules.
• Establish planning and scheduling standards, methodologies, and reporting frameworks.
• Monitor project progress and analyse schedule performance against key milestones.
• Identify schedule risks, delays, and opportunities, implementing mitigation strategies where required.
• Provide critical path analysis and schedule forecasting to support decision-making.
• Manage and mentor planning teams across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with project, engineering, commercial, and construction teams to optimise delivery outcomes.
• Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, and programme updates for senior stakeholders.
• Support tender planning, programme development, and project mobilisation activities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Significant experience in a Planning Manager, Lead Planner, or Senior Planner position.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale infrastructure, civil, utilities, or construction projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and strong project controls knowledge.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to influence project outcomes through proactive planning and programme management.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
