CPB Contractors is Australia’s leading contractor and the largest infrastructure construction company in our region. Part of the CIMIC Group, we are proud to be constructing Australia’s future and do so collaboratively with our partners and clients.

We hire for careers, not project life. CPB Contractors has more than 50 major infrastructure projects in delivery, across all key sectors of the construction industry, including roads and bridges, rail, tunnelling, defence, airports, buildings and resources, providing you with career opportunities for years to come.

The Project

CPB Contractors is seeking an experienced Travel Manager to oversee workforce travel and mobilisation for a major data centre project. Initially based in Brisbane, the role will transition to a regional site location once established.

Supporting a remote workforce of approximately 1,500 personnel, you will lead the end-to-end coordination of flights, charter services, ground transport and accommodation movements, ensuring workforce travel aligns with project rosters and operational requirements.

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will lead a team of Travel Coordinators and work closely with project leadership, workforce planning, recruitment and external travel providers. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical logistics function on a major infrastructure project, driving operational efficiency, service delivery and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end workforce travel operations, coordinating flights, charter services, bus transfers and accommodation movements for a large-scale workforce.
  • Lead, develop and mentor a team of Travel Coordinators, establishing clear processes, service standards and performance expectations.
  • Collaborate with operations, workforce planning, recruitment and site leadership to forecast travel demand and coordinate roster-driven mobilisations and crew changes.
  • Manage travel disruptions, last-minute changes and operational escalations, ensuring workforce movements are delivered safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor travel expenditure, utilisation and service performance, identifying opportunities to improve processes, optimise costs and enhance the employee experience.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience managing high-volume workforce travel, mobilisation or logistics operations, ideally supporting large or remote workforces.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team within a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of flight bookings, accommodation coordination, ground transport and roster-based workforce movements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, organisational and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in travel booking systems and workforce management platforms.

We particularly welcome and encourage applications from Indigenous Peoples, women, the LGBTQ+ community, mature workers, Veterans and active-duty armed forces, people with disabilities and people from different cultural backgrounds. CPB Contractors is proud to hold the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Citation - Employer of Choice for Gender Equality.

We’re always looking for ways to make CPB Contractors a more rewarding place to work and offer a unique set of benefits, including:

  • A rewarding career where we support your development, training and promote from within.
  • Opportunities across all construction sectors so that there is always an opportunity suitable for the next stage in your career.
  • Competitive remuneration and excellent benefits including a health and wellbeing program, discount portal and company-funded salary continuance insurance.
  • Flexible work arrangements and a culture that values diversity and innovation.

Please note: This role is being sourced through CPB Contractors directly and we will not accept applications via external recruitment agencies.
