What can our construction projects build for you?
CPB Contractors along with our industry partners has been selected to deliver two major packages for the Cross River Rail Projects: the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) package and the Rail, Integration and Systems (RIS) package.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, which includes 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and the CBD.
The RIS package is crucial to the overall delivery and success of Cross River Rail, and its integration with the Queensland Rail network. RIS will be delivered by the UNITY Alliance which brings CPB Contractors, UGL, AECOM and Jacobs together with partners HASSEL, RCS Australia, Acmena, Martinus Rail and WIRED Overhead Solutions to deliver the full scope of works over the next three years. This includes:
- Rail civil and electrical works
- Brownfield rail surface works primarily to the north of the tunnel, including an upgrade of Exhibition Station and a major augmentation of Mayne Yard
- Upgrade of six suburban stations to the south
- Rail operational systems works
- Rail signalling works and communication, and integration and commission activities
Your Opportunity
As the Contracts Manager, you will work closely with the Commercial Director to ensure integrity of the UNITY Alliance project is maintained and enhanced through contract and commercial activities, in conjunction with timely reporting.
You will be accountable for:
- Providing advice to the Alliance Manager and discipline leads on contractual obligations and entitlement for cost and time relief;
- Management of insurance claims across the Project;
- Management of property leases and negotiation of new agreements and lease extensions;
- Assist in resolving contentious subcontract negotiations, claims, and litigated proceedings;
- Support the Alliance Manager in compiling the Monthly Report and vetting the accuracy of information provided by discipline leads;
- Manage interface and coordination agreements with other CRR Project Participants;
- Support the Completions Team to ensure the conditions precedent required to achieve Practical Completion is satisfied in a timely manner;
- Support the Environmental Team to resolve land resumption issues;
- Support the Change Manager in identifying and progressing potential change events;
- Work collaboratively with other Project Participants and the Project Owner to navigate complex contractual issues and agree best-for-project outcomes;
- Successfully coordinate efficient delivery in the management of contract documentation
Our minimum requirements for this role are:
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to interpret and apply contracts
- Experience writing head contract letters
- Demonstrated high-level decision making, negotiation and influencing skills
- Significant experience in the management of major subcontract packages for large-scale complex building or infrastructure projects
- Robust understanding of relevant legislation
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build a high performing team that delivers excellence
- Detailed knowledge and demonstrated high level experience in project management, planning, budgeting, and cost control
