About North East Link -

The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.

The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.

The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.

 

About the Opportunity:

The Precinct Community Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in the communications and engagement function delivering the North East Link’s Primary Package. The Precinct Community Engagement Coordinator will be based at the NEL’s Watsonia Hub and will provide in-person engagement, as well as project and administrative support for the Communications and Community Relations team.

 

This role will be accountable for:

  • Help cultivate a positive, productive relationship across the project delivery partners by providing input and insight to resolving issues and realise opportunities
  • Assist and support the Project Team in engagement activities with external project stakeholders by providing accurate and up to date project information either in person, over the phone or via digital communication methods
  • Provide project administrative support, such as coordinating temporary resident relocation, property damage claims, preparation of project reporting, liaison with suppliers and/or other duties as deemed reasonable and appropriate to the role
  • Report on queries, complaints and in in-person engagement activities, including recording all interactions in the project stakeholder management database
  • Work closely with the Precinct Community Engagement Lead and Senior Advisor to support and assist the Communications and Community engagement function for the northern section of the project.

 

Minimum requirements for this role are:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant subject eg Communications, Public Relations or related field or experience in a project or customer support role
  • Ability to operate a computer-based technology and software programs such as MS Office suite of programs (Word, Excel & Powerpoint).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Good writing and data capturing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate administrative support functions
