CBGU JV brings together partners CPB Contractors, BAM, Ghella and UGL to deliver the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) package for Brisbane’s Cross River Rail.  Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line.  CBGU Joint Venture will deliver the underground works of the project, including tunnelling, four new underground stations.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, in this role you will be providing HR support across a multi-disciplined construction environment across four (4) joint venture partners.  We are interested in your previous HR generalist experience on Construction projects, high attention to detail, effective stakeholder management skills and adaptability. This role is a mixture of office based at Milton and Site Based

You will be responsible for:

  • Fostering, nurturing and driving a positive workplace culture and promoting the core values of the business as a visible member of the HR team
  • Involvement in project-based activities and facilitating their implementation
  • Serving as a mentor to the project by supporting a range of complex issues and harnessing risk mitigation strategies to guide the HR process
  • Conducting workplace investigations and managing the project’s response to any grievances
  • Working with the leadership team to support talent and performance management processes
  • Championing the consistent application of all HR policies and procedures
  • Supporting and managing the successful implementation of performance appraisals and career management 
  • Providing advice to stakeholders on relevant HR issues, including policies and practices, procedures, legislation, and workplace related issues

Minimum requirements for this role include the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a relevant discipline
  • Previous experience as a HR generalist supporting a major construction or heavy industry project
  • Ability to apply practical learning in an operational environment
  • Demonstrated organisational, planning and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously
  • Significant experience (10+ years) as a Human Resources generalist and / or business partner.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing experience.
