About The Role

We are expanding our team at Thiess Mt Arthur South in the Upper Hunter Valley, New South Wales, just 2.5km away from Muswellbrook. We have always focused on developing a strong performance culture, where everyone's contribution is valued equally and local opportunities are provided.

We are looking for a new Health and Safety Advisor who will report directly to the project Health and Safety Manager and support the maintenance and effectiveness of the site's Health and Safety Management System. This is a dynamic, hands-on role where flexibility and quick adaptation are key to your success.

  • Providing Health and Safety systems and processes support and advice to our frontline personnel and key internal stakeholders.
  • Playing a crucial role in the implementation of the injury management process.
  • Driving a strong safety culture and liaising with other departments to ensure the achievement of the site's safety objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable Health and Safety laws, regulations, and statutory obligations at all times.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a strong passion for the safety and well-being of our workforce and promote improvements in safety performance and behavioural change. 
  • Have a tertiary qualification in Health & Safety and previous industry experience desirable.
  • Provide expert advice on injury management, workers compensation, and return to work processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Capable of facilitating ICAM Investigations and risk assessments.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in computer skills is also required.
