About the role
As the Operations Manager, Autonomy, you will lead and inspire a team to achieve outstanding results, coordinate efforts across teams and stakeholders, and champion change initiatives. You will foster a team culture that embodies our Group Principles and promotes growth and development.
Additionally, you will:
- Monitor project operations, identifying and addressing areas of risk.
- Manage project costs, demonstrate commercial acumen in decision making, and seek opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or delivery deadlines.
- Build strong relationships with project teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Use effective communication skills to influence outcomes and keep team members and stakeholders informed of work activities and outcomes.
- Manage OEMs, dealers, and communication network suppliers.
- Develop governance systems and procedures as required.
- Support project teams in achieving business case targets, integrate autonomy into daily production activities, and implement continuous improvement programs.
- Engage functional teams to support project delivery and develop operational risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with Thiess' governance system, actively support system reviews, and assist project teams and stakeholders in understanding and complying with governance requirements.
- Drive HSE compliance and performance improvement initiatives.
About You
You will have completed an Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications/experience and have 5+ years of experience in a relevant engineering role at a principal level, with expertise in Autonomous Haulage, preferably Command for Haulage.
Your demonstrated leadership capability, autonomous haulage project delivery and implementation experience, systems thinking ability, experience with autonomous system technologies, assets, and/or mine planning will ensure your success in this role. In addition to this, your strong commercial acumen, innovation implementation skills, effective communication, teamwork skills and negotiation capabilities will enable you to directly influence outcomes within the business.
