About The Role
Thiess is currently recruiting a Supervisor - Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) for our Eva Copper Mine Project, located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People, 75 kilometres north of Cloncurry and 95 kilometres north-east of Mount Isa.
This role is being offered as a max-term contract of 12-18months, providing a great opportunity to be part of an exciting new project!
We strongly encourage locals in Northwest Queensland, including members of the Kalkadoon community and other First Nations people, to apply for this role on a BIBO basis. Depending on the successful candidate's location, the role can also be offered on a FIFO roster from either Townsville or Brisbane, with on-site accommodation provided.
Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer- NPI, you will provide onsite construction engineering surveillance and management of subcontractors ensuring the safe execution of the Project.
Key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Leading and enforcing Site compliance to all health, safety and environment matters
- Conduct regular job site inspections to assess performance and compliance with project standards.
- Actively monitor the work environment for potential hazards and address risks in timely manner.
- Demonstrating a personal commitment to the HSE Cultural Framework, policies, Critical Risk Controls and HSE Management System requirements and expectations.
- Development, issuing and management of any high-risk work including permitting requirements.
- Supervising external multi-discipline Subcontractors and Suppliers including civil, mechanical, structural, electrical disciplines.
- Liaising with the Senior Project Engineer and Construction Manager
- Coordinate with clients and/or subcontractors to ensure work is carried out in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and scheduled dates.
- Driving works to the project schedule to ensure project milestones are achieved
- Preparing and delivering pre-starts and toolboxes
- Coordinating delivery of materials, plant and equipment
- Insuring works carried out are as per the contract and are to relevant Australian and industry Standards.
- Managing internal and external interfaces with contractor/client personnel.
- Perform quality management representative duties.
- Provide daily reports on progress, non-compliance, and any work delays.
About You
- Supervisory tickets S1,S2,S3
- G2 risk management, G3 establish & maintain risk management certificates
- Minimum, 5 years' experience in a similar role, working with a tier 1 or 2 construction company
- Comprehensive understanding of OHS legislation and regulations, including contractual, quality requirements, safety standards, and knowledge of industry construction processes and methodologies
- Proven experience in successfully delivering multi discipline construction projects >$10M within the resources industry
- Demonstrated capabilities to effectively manage and coordinate multiple work crews safely, both internal and subcontractor, to achieve project aims
- Direct interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at required levels
- Excellent planning skills
- Demonstrated safety and environmental leadership behaviour and compliance
- Demonstrated success in driving team and subcontractor performance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage relationships with contractors
- Leadership, problem-solving and influencing skills
- Ability to work in a small project team
- Strong attention to detail for quality assurance
- A valid Australian drivers licence
- Possession of a White Card
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
