About The Role

As the Head of People & Communications, Australia East you will play a pivotal role in driving a relationship-oriented culture both internally and externally within the Australia east region.

This role will lead and implement regional talent strategies with business and client priorities, ensuring the attraction, retention, development and mobilisation of critical capability to drive performance and sustain competitive advantage.

A strong ‘one team’ mindset and the ability to navigate a complex, matrixed global structure are essential to success in this role.

In this role, you will:

· Lead the implementation of a People Strategy aligned with Group priorities, delivering impactful HR outcomes across Australia East.

· Provide strategic oversight and support on People matters, maintaining strong site presence and collaborating across teams to forecast and meet evolving resourcing and development needs.

· Lead, influence and support team strategy regarding Industrial Relations in complex industrial workplaces.

· Provide expert HR guidance across employee relations, talent development, recruitment and generalist HR functions, supporting leaders with both strategic and operational input.

· Lead the development of compliant and business-aligned HR systems, procedures and initiatives.

· Lead and influence team strategy and development initiatives that align with the broader business and People strategies driving improved team dynamics and effectiveness.

· Foster a respectful workplace culture in line with Company Standards and Values, while aligning change strategies with business vision and objectives.

About You

We are seeking candidates for this position with relevant formal tertiary education, post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded.

The ideal candidate will possess 10 to 15 years of demonstrated success gained in leadership roles in mining, construction and/or engineering industries.

Technical competencies should include a demonstrated ability to design and lead regionally aligned people strategies, manage change initiatives in line with business objectives and ensure compliance through deep knowledge of employment legislation within Australia.
