What You’ll Do: 

As our next Asset Specialist - Maintenance Strategy & Support, based at our Brisbane head office, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results for our projects. 

Ensure that all projects are supported and aligned to the Thiess Planning Process and Maintenance Management System usage. Provide high quality technical support and implement best practice solutions while seeking innovation in technology.  

In this role, you will: 

  • Develop and continuously improve preventative maintenance strategies and associated documentation by liaising with OEM’s and Thiess content experts 

  • Identify opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of maintenance through enhanced planning practices and new technologies 

  • Help develop and maintain standardised automated reporting and workflows using Power BI and Power Automate 

  • Contribute to the ongoing digitalisation of maintenance processes  

  • Provide support to planners and maintenance personnel, including on-site and off-site training 

  • Ensure the JDE maintenance system is utilised effectively by our sites to maintain transparency and accurate data records across the business  

  • Demonstrate safety leadership in your own behaviour and your interactions with others 

 

What You’ll Need to Succeed 

The ideal candidate will hold a trade qualification or an engineering degree, or possess equivalent experience. They will have proven expertise in mobile plant maintenance operations and maintenance planning for large mining equipment, combined with strong communication skills and the ability to negotiate with stakeholders to influence outcomes. 

  • Strong knowledge of the MS Office suite 

  • Competent in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (e.g., JDE) 

  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
