The Opportunity
Reporting to the Asset Finance Manager, you will provide finance and asset administration support for intra-group plant hire transactions across the Thiess asset portfolio. Working closely with finance, engineering, and asset management stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate setup, management, reporting, and reconciliation of asset-related transactions within JDE.
This role offers a unique combination of financial accounting, reporting, asset administration, and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage asset administration activities, ensuring accurate setup and maintenance of asset records across multiple entities.
- Maintain asset master data, plant rates, billing settings, and cost codes within the ERP system.
- Process and reconcile intercompany and internal hire transactions to support accurate financial outcomes.
- Coordinate monthly plant time entry activities, including validation of utilisation and operational data.
- Maintain accurate asset ownership, location, and utilisation records across the business.
- Support month-end accounting processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Prepare end-of-month reporting and provide insights to support asset finance decision-making.
- Manage major repair cost allocations and asset-related financial transactions.
- Create and maintain preventative maintenance work orders and monitor work order alignment across entities.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial controls, processes, and system efficiencies.
About You
You are a highly organised finance professional who enjoys working with complex data, systems, and stakeholders. You have a strong eye for detail, excellent analytical capability, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You will also bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years' accounting or finance experience
- Experience working with ERP systems, with JDE experience highly regarded
- Exposure to intercompany accounting and reconciliations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Experience in fixed asset accounting, mining, resources, or contract mining environments will be highly regarded
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify process efficiencies
