The Opportunity

Are you a values-driven leader with a strong maintenance background and a passion for developing high-performing teams? Thiess is seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Supervisor to join our high-performing team at the Olive Downs Complex.

As a key member of the Olive Downs maintenance team, you'll be responsible for leading safe, reliable and efficient maintenance operations across our mobile mining fleet, ensuring equipment availability is maximised while driving strong safety, productivity and performance outcomes.

Roster: 7/7 Days & Nights | Location: Olive Downs Complex, QLD | Employment Type: Full Time

As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead, coach and develop team members by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance and providing ongoing mentoring.
  • Plan, manage and execute maintenance activities to achieve service time targets, schedule compliance and fleet reliability outcomes.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Superintendents in implementing safety initiatives, managing resources and driving continuous improvement across the operation.

About you

You are a collaborative and results-focused leader with experience in open cut mining maintenance and a genuine commitment to safety, reliability and team performance.

You will also bring:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification or tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive post-trade or relevant maintenance experience within a mining environment.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, environment and community standards.
  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning, scheduling and condition monitoring.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Sound understanding of mining legislation and compliance requirements.
