The People & Culture Manager – NSW/ACT plays an influential role in supporting and directing HR related activities for our store management across New South Wales & ACT. For the person who comes into this position, you’re not only joining a collaborative People & Culture team, you’ll be entering our retail team as a leader, at a time when our stores are enjoying record breaking results!

This position lends itself to someone who is self-led. You will be trusted by your leader to work autonomously and really make the role your own. We are looking for an experienced HR generalist who partners with the General Manager of Stores and is able to diagnose issues, identify areas for improvement and coaches their stakeholder group to be strong leaders. Your interventions will be aligned with the overall Myer business strategy, be meaningful to the operations you support and protect the enviable organisational culture we are so proud of.

About the role:

• Coach, mentor and develop managers to be successful in their roles and achieving business objectives, the Myerstrategy and people strategy initiatives.
• Provide guidance/advice/interpretation and training to line managers on HR, ER, internal policy and people issues
• Analyse and utilise various people metrics and recommend business/HR solutions to improve performance.
• Employee Relations case management.
• Advise managers in the effective practice and implementation of recruitment, talent and performance.
• Support change and cultural initiatives, including diversity and inclusion initiatives, reward and recognition, wellbeing, retention, learning and development, on-boarding and off-boarding
• Advise senior leaders on organisational design, structure and change management.

About you:

• Experience in providing business partnering in a complex organisation where operational excellence and customer service are a focus

• Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

• Proven experience in case managing and solving complex employee relations issues
• Use innovative approaches to drive culture, change, high performance, effective leadership, & positive customer and employee experiences

• Demonstrated experience advising leaders in HR and ER matters

• Well grounded, energetic, committed and achievement-oriented
• An ability to work with ambiguity and on multiple projects
• An ability to communicate effectively, influence others and gain cooperation in an engaging way
• Provide HR operational advice that drives business performance

• Experience coaching and influencing senior leaders
• Ability to work objectively in a fast paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
