The Corporate Affairs and PR Team are seeking a PR Specialist to drive the delivery of media relations and external activity to promote the strategy and ambition of the Myer Group. This role focuses on enhancing brand visibility through effective media relations across several initiatives and business priorities

About the role:

• Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, managing press releases and securing coverage for key focus areas, campaigns and events.
• Develop story angles, media events/activations and other opportunities to grow the Myer brand and support key moments throughout the year including key trade activities, special events e.g., Myer’s Christmas Windows.
• Work in collaboration with marketing to advise on talent to ensure that engaged talent are suitable for media, to drive positive brand awareness and appeal for the Myer Group.
• Engage and negotiate talent to deliver key media relations and external activity.
• Collaborate with external agencies and internal stakeholders to align PR initiatives and ensure seamless execution across all platforms.
• Ensure smooth execution of PR initiatives by coordinating with internal teams, seeking relevant internal approvals, tracking deliverables, budget management, and maintaining accurate reporting on all media activities.
• Assisting with management of annual and seasonal budget, ensuring that all activity is delivered on budget.

About you:

• Proven experience in PR, influencer and talent management either inhouse or agency environment
• Expertise in managing media relations and developing strategic PR initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
• Ability to effectively engage with talent and media partners, driving successful PR campaigns.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
