The Store Design Team are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Store Planner to collaborate with the merchandising, space planning, store development and external brands to develop effective store layouts in our journey to enhance the customer experience and drive sales aligning with brand image and Myer store design guidelines.

About the role:

  • Translate the company merchandise strategies into functional, engaging retail layouts.
  • Optimize floor plans, traffic flow, and fixture placements using 2d & 3d AutoCAD to maximize sales, enhance the customer experience, and ensure efficient use of space
  • Create and develop store layout designs, supplier and department concepts.
  • Deliver large scale detailed project documentation, on time and within budget.
  • Liaise with internal/external stakeholders, manage external consultants, shopfitters and contractors to ensure all design are in line with Myer strategy and project outcomes are achieved.
  • Follow through with each project to ensure design detailing is executed through the construction phases from prototyping, defect resolution through to completion of the site works.
  • Ensure the design process recognises and adheres to current legislation, standards and codes of practice.
  • Production of supplier documentation in Cad format (Pad Plans) for proposed installations within Myer stores.
  • Review and approve supplier concepts in line with the Myer Design installation guidelines.
  • Design and present new and innovative design concepts that support the company strategy.

 

About you:

  • Proven 2-5 years of experience as a store planner, preferably with multi product categories and experience in planning a store size of over 5,000sqm.
  • A degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong knowledge of retail/product design in terms of store layouts, fixture design, lighting, finishes and signage
  • Good understanding of building and construction means and methods including a strong knowledge of relevant regulations, codes and legislation
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Adobe CS6 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Strong concept design skills, a proven track record of running and delivering projects
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong visual presentation skills including perspective sketching, graphic design and rendering (hand or computer generated) with the ability to read/interpret detailed design documentation
  • Effective time management and an ability to multi-task and prioritize a dynamic workload
  • Ability and willingness to perform under tight deadlines to ensure successful completion of all work assignments
