What does the job look like?

The Distribution Centre Manager is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the warehouse operation, maintaining constant engagement with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the Distribution Centre, customers, and all employees. The role involves leading the introduction of new business opportunities, innovative processes, and equipment within the contract to achieve maximum payloads and deliver acceptable commercial returns. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and leading a high-performance safety culture.
• Implementing initiatives to ensure cost containment, maximise profit delivery, and meet budget and customer service objectives.
• Investigating and resolving queries/issues in client service requirements.
• Formulating, implementing, and monitoring appropriate KPIs to maintain optimal performance.
• Developing and leading customer partnerships and high-level customer relationship management.
• Delivering the most productive outcomes for Linfox through effective utilisation of warehouse and transport resources while meeting or exceeding customer service expectations.
• Leading, motivating, developing, and performance managing operational team members towards best practices.

Are you the one?

You are an experienced DC Manager who can demonstrate leadership and execute service excellence in a transport operation across your customer network. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have extensive experience in commercial, operational, customer, and unionized work environments. You can demonstrate:

• Extensive knowledge of warehouse and transport operations in large-scale settings.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with a keen eye for analytics.
• Proven experience in developing and leading CI/Lean programs across warehousing and transport.
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining high-performance teams and culture.
• Engagement with key stakeholders regarding budget, resource, and capital planning, as well as key performance reporting and analysis to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
• High-level negotiation and communication skills with staff and third parties, including unions.
• Ability to achieve and drive financial plans and operational targets.
