What does the job look like?

Linfox’s Intermodal business unit are currently seeking an Operations Supervisor to join the team located in Acacia Ridge QLD. You will be responsible for the daily management of the PUD handling and warehousing functions within the Transport space. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day operations within the depot including planning and performance. This must be achieved whilst ensuring the efficient and profitable operations of Linfox fleet and appropriate management of sub-contractor vehicles. Other duties of this role include shift planning and management of shift change, incident response and management, whilst upholding Linfox values at all times. We currently have a permanent full time opportunity working Monday to Friday from 5-6am onwards. Key areas:

• Ensure all pickup and deliveries are executed to meet delivery windows and customer expectations.
• Ensure compliance with road/rail operational processes and legislation.
• Ensure the reporting of all hazards, near-misses and incidents in line with the Linfox Incident Management Procedure.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to all employees to ensure the operation is completed in the safest manner.
• Effective allocation of resources and management of drivers and subcontracting partners.
• Oversee scheduled maintenance activities and ongoing review of assets against schedule.
• Complete regular yard walks, conduct spot checks on driver tasks including coupling checks, oversee MT Data compliance for tasks such as pre-start checks and fatigue compliance.

To be successful in this role, you have a collaborative approach to your leadership style. You are supportive but comfortable having difficult conversations and can think on your feet to solve problems quickly and efficiently.  You can demonstrate:

• Experience in a supervisory role within road/rail transport operations.
• Experience in planning and coordinating freight to be delivered on time and in full.
• High regard for safe working practices, understanding of COR and Heavy Vehicle Compliance.
• Experience with Transport Management Systems, SAP and MS office.
• Strong history of scheduling/coordination.
• Self-driven and ability to confidently lead to achieve outcomes.
