We’re looking for an experienced People & Culture Advisor to join Premier Retail, supporting Peter Alexander and Smiggle brands within New Zealand.

This is a 6-month maternity leave cover, with the potential to extend up to 12 months, and a preferred start date of 1 June 2026.

Reporting to the Group General Manager NZ, this is a broad, well-balanced role, providing support across all areas of HR. The portfolio is manageable, the foundations are in place, and the focus is on providing practical, people-focused advice.

This role also has one direct report – Recruitment Coordinator – to ensure recruitment delivery across both brands.

 Hours:

30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 8.30am – 4.30pm. (open to discussing other options). The role will preferably start in June 2026.

About the Role:

You’ll be involved across the full employee lifecycle, with key responsibilities including:

• Supporting recruitment and selection to support ongoing business success
• Coaching and guiding leaders through performance management and development conversations
• Managing employee relations matters across retail stores, Distribution Centre and Support Office
• Supporting Health & Safety across stores and support office
• Leading and supporting the Recruitment Coordinator
• General HR administration and project work as required

About You:

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Solid experience operating at an HR Advisor level (or ready to step into a more senior scope)
• Ideally has experience in retail, hospitality, or another multi-site environment
• Builds strong, trusted relationships with leaders
• Is confident handling employee relations matters end-to-end
• Communicates clearly and practically
• Is comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a wider team
• Is genuinely interested in continuing to grow their HR capability
