The Role & The Team
As a Senior Engineering Specialist you will support critical projects, including the relocation of the Network Operations Management Centre (NOMC), and the delivery of the National Airspace Management Office (NAMO) and the Local and sub-Regional Airspace Management Support System (LARA) to industry.
Initially work as the overarching NAMO Project Technical Lead (PTL). PTL is a key role within any program and provides technical leadership and system engineering oversight to ensure that Airservices requirements are defined and met.
Reporting into our Program Manager, you will ultimately be responsible for the technical readiness of operational systems by providing technical and operational guidance and direction to support the project team. In addition, key role responsibilities include the following.
- Support the successful delivery of the LARA Airspace Management tool into the Australian Air Traffic Management (ATM) environment.
- Support project technical components by implementing engineering processes, frameworks, policies and governance standards.
- Ensure the successful management of technical scope.
- Complete required cyber security assessments and documentation required under the Technology Management System (TMS).
- Provide technical engineering advice to support project decision making
- Oversee dependency identification, reporting and management
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to determine operational and technical requirements.
- Development of technical and operational project artefacts.
The Person
As an experienced Senior Airspace & Network Engineer, you will bring a wealth of technical knowledge and experience to assist in the successful delivery of our projects. In addition, you will possess the following.
- Tertiary Engineering Qualification
- Registration of Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ)
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia.
- Sound understanding of applying Systems Engineering practices throughout the SDLC and system management processes.
- Ability to design, maintain & support Airspace Management, Cyber Security and System Integration and Data Network Systems.
- Competent with Information Security Manual (ISM) and demonstrated experience in adhering to ISM principles and applying ISM controls.
- Understanding of DO-278A guidelines, software assurance levels and relevant processes and artefacts.
- Sound understanding of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations Part 171 and Part 172.
- Strong documentation skills including preparing and reviewing solution architecture documents and system design documents.
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management capabilities.
- Ability to work autonomously & as a senior member of a dynamic team.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
