About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow (Level A or Level B) with expertise in quantum processes and quantum computing.

  • Level A: Focused on contributing to the University’s research efforts and developing research expertise through defined projects.
  • Level B: Conducting independent and/or collaborative research, further developing expertise within the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on complex quantum processes, particularly using the process tensor formalism, and leverage practical quantum computing experience.
  • Simulate complex quantum processes on quantum computers to uncover exotic dynamical phenomena.
  • Co-supervise students and provide guidance in programming on quantum computers.
  • Build and sustain long-term quantum computing and simulation capabilities at Monash University.

About You

You will bring:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Maths, or Physics 
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: complex quantum processes, quantum error corrections, tensor networks, optimisation and machine learning, and developing software infrastructure
  • Some experience in quantum engineering, quantum computing, and/or quantum information sciences
  • A deep understanding of quantum algorithms  and/or experience with quantum hardware will also be beneficial.
  • A passion for innovation and advancing knowledge at the intersection of complex quantum noise, quantum error correction, and quantum computing.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within research teams and engage in mentoring students.
