The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Project Officer to play a pivotal role in the NHMRC-funded COPE project (Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment to Improve Perioperative Care for Older People) at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine.
This initiative focuses on establishing the effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and implementation pathways for comprehensive geriatric assessments (CGA) in Australian healthcare, targeting elective hip and knee replacements for older people. Your work will help shape evidence-based care, reduce complications, shorten hospital stays, and enhance the quality of life for older surgical patients.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate high-level project activities, ensuring timely and successful delivery of outcomes
- Act as a key liaison between the project team, university, and stakeholders
- Develop project documentation, updates, and reports, while contributing to complex administrative and data-related tasks
- Provide expert advice and support to ensure excellence in project execution
- Collaborate with stakeholders to plan deliverables, monitor progress, and implement management strategies
- Undertake research, analyse data, and present findings to support project goals
- Build and maintain strong relationships across internal and external networks
What You’ll Bring
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or extensive healthcare experience
- Proven expertise in research project management, particularly in health services research, implementation research, or improving care for older people
- Exceptional planning, organisational, and communication skills
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
