The Opportunity
Monash University is seeking a dedicated and experienced psychologist to join our team as a Senior Coordinator, Counselling and Psychological Services. The role is as a Sole Clinician at our Peninsula campus. In this pivotal role, you will independently manage and deliver mental health services to the campus community while aligning your practices with the broader department’s strategic objectives. As a key point of contact for mental health support, you will provide expert psychological counselling, engage with key stakeholders including student organisations and faculties, and deliver essential mental health programs aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of both students and staff.
Your responsibilities will include managing a clinical caseload, responding to urgent mental health presentations, and providing leadership in complex psychological matters. You may supervise clinical placement students and contribute to the development and evaluation of evidence-based programs. Additionally, you will collaborate with stakeholders to foster partnerships and ensure seamless communication across departments. Your expertise will also support the university’s risk management and crisis response team, ensuring effective strategies are in place for high-risk cases.
To ensure your success in this position, you will demonstrate considerable expertise in the field of psychology and counselling, along with a relevant qualification and registration with AHPRA. You will have experience working clinically with a range of evidence based psychological interventions that demonstrate efficacy in a short-term clinical work context, and substantial experience and knowledge of community mental health services and referral procedures.
