Multiple Academic Opportunities Available

Due to sustained growth, we are now seeking exceptional academics to join our inclusive and collaborative team, delivering excellent teaching to our students, and engaging in impactful, meaningful research.  Appointments are available across both Teaching & Research and Education-Focused positions. 

Academic Levels available including Lecturer (Level B), Senior Lecturer (Level C), Associate Professor (Level D) and Professor (Level E). We are open to applications for those looking for fractional as well as full time appointments. 

Teaching & Research Roles

  • In these positions, you will make contributions to the educational activities of the Faculty and University, as well as maintaining and developing your scholarly, research and discipline-relevant professional and engagement activities. 

Education-Focused Roles

  • In these positions, your primary role is in the provision of excellent teaching and associated activities in the Faculty, being involved in educational design and delivery, and educational leadership (including educational or discipline based scholarship).

About you

We are excited to welcome excellent and collegiate academics who are eager to contribute to the success of Monash Law, and who have a passion for educational excellence and rigorous, impactful research.  

We are interested to hear from outstanding academics in all areas of Law, and particularly welcome applications from individuals in disciplines that will further strengthen our teaching offerings, such as:

  • Private law: property land, trusts, equity, torts, housing and residential tenancies; intellectual property
  • Public law: constitutional law, administrative law public law and statutory interpretation
  • Ethics and Justice: dispute resolution, legal ethics, access to justice, clinical legal education
  • Corporate Finance: corporations law, insolvency and bankruptcy
  • Climate change and environmental law and governance
  • Law/Tech: artificial intelligence, privacy and digital human rights
  • Legal Philosophy

We welcome interest from legal scholars who take all and any approaches to their research (doctrinal, historical, comparative, theoretical/philosophical and so on)  as we look to build our capacity and expertise in socio-legal and empirical legal scholarship and methodologies.

Additionally, with the largest clinical legal education programme in Australia and celebrating 50 years of clinics this year, we are interested to hear from those who are able to further strengthen our clinical expertise.
