The Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Director, Communications, the Senior Strategic Adviser manages and protects the University’s brand and reputation through effective corporate positioning and audience engagement. The appointee will be responsible for developing organisational communications strategies, crisis communications responses, managing media relations, and advising senior stakeholders on messaging. They will work directly with executive leadership and senior management across the organisation on specific subjects to develop and implement comprehensive communications, PR and communications risk management strategies aligned with the organisation’s goals.
About You
You are a proven communications leader with experience at a senior management level in a large complex international setting. With a strong track record developing and implementing successful communications and external relations strategies and campaigns, you understand how to improve the awareness and perception of organisations, protecting and shaping reputation. You possess a highly developed knowledge of the global media landscape, strong and effective professional networks and the capability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders. Underpinning your capabilities are your exemplary strategic judgement, political savviness, discretion, and experience in providing data-informed insights, strategies, and programs to deliver agendas. You may have experience or knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing the higher education sector. Above all, you are inspired to make a positive difference.
