The Opportunity

Join a dynamic international team as the PAIR Program Manager at the Australia-Indonesia Centre. In this pivotal role, you’ll manage the end-to-end delivery of the DFAT-funded Partnership for Australia-Indonesia Research (PAIR) Sulawesi program. Working alongside senior academic and professional staff in both Australia and Indonesia, you will ensure that program outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and impact.

This position will be responsible for the end-to-end management of a complex, cross-border research program. You will develop and implement operational plans, oversee project timelines, manage budgets, ensure the successful completion of deliverables and implement change management strategies associated with end-of-program outcomes. Key responsibilities include supporting program governance, managing government and university stakeholders in both countries, coordinating research teams within a complex international research environment, coordinating risk management strategies, preparing high-level reports and briefings, and overseeing contracts and procurement. You will also manage a small program team and collaborate with external consultants and Monash University support units.

To be successful in this role you will have exceptional project management expertise and a strong track record of delivering large-scale programs within complex environments. Your ability to prioritise, lead a high-performing team, and apply strategic thinking will be crucial. You'll possess advanced communication and stakeholder engagement skills, complemented by strong analytical and research capabilities. Experience with program monitoring and evaluation, supporting change initiatives and learning and Gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) initiatives would be an advantage as would Indonesian language skills.
