The Opportunity

The Senior Lecturer (Practice) will play a pivotal role in shaping and expanding the Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) program. In this position, you will be responsible for the successful preparation and delivery of CDL-affiliated units, the ongoing development of these units to ensure continued relevancy, and the active supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. You will contribute to teaching workshops, mentor staff, and lead program-wide teaching initiatives, while producing high-quality research and thought leadership in areas relevant to CDL and the Monash Business School, including AI, quantum, climate innovation, and entrepreneurship. This role also involves taking active steps to upskill in frontier technology areas, liaising effectively with CDL-Global to meet program delivery and reporting milestones, and producing a strategic roadmap for CDL encompassing student, industry, and government engagement. You will oversee program administrative responsibilities to a high standard, establish two or more sustained partnerships annually with government, industry, or NGOs, and provide evidence of CDL-Melbourne ventures engaging with industry or government partners through pilots, collaborations, and other initiatives, directly contributing to the growth and impact of the CDL program.

As the successful candidate, you will hold a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., climate, quantum, AI, energy technologies, entrepreneurship, or related fields) or equivalent standing. You will have a strong record of high-quality research, excellence in teaching and curriculum design at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and proven success in securing research funding. You will bring leadership in academic program delivery, experience building partnerships with government, industry, and global organisations, and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
