The Opportunity

Mentally Healthy Workplaces Australia (MHWA) is set to become a world-first  centre providing nationally coordinated leadership that facilitates collaboration, inspires innovation and delivers impact in workplace mental health, safety and wellbeing, through research, evidence-based solutions and implementation support.

We are seeking a passionate Senior Establishment Project Manager to drive the coordinated development, governance and delivery of activities establishing Mentally Healthy Workplaces Australia (MHWA). The role leads end-to-end planning, management and execution of diverse establishment activities, including governance processes, supported by clear reporting, effective communication and strong stakeholder and partner engagement. With oversight of key administrative systems and actions, the position is central to building the solid foundations for MHWA as a collaborative and agile national centre, initially operating within Monash University. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will be equally comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment, and a mature large-scale university or organisational setting.

Working closely with MHWA Establishment Co-leads, MHWA's diverse Partners, and Monash University functions, the Senior Establishment Project Manager establishes and strengthens systems, processes and alignments across numerous establishment activities to contribute to MHWA’s establishment. The role manages planning, progress tracking, administrative and communications activities, governance support and relationship management while contributing to a positive, values-driven culture where diverse perspectives are welcomed and colleagues are supported to achieve meaningful outcomes.

The position requires a solid foundation of extensive complex business or project management experience supported by relevant education and applied expertise. Success in the role is underpinned by well-developed complex and dynamic project management capabilities with a bias for action, strong organisational and problem solving skills, process and systems development experience, attention to detail, stakeholder engagement experience across complex settings and the ability to thrive in start-up or early-phase project environments.

If you are motivated by the opportunity to help build a national initiative that supports mentally healthy workplaces across Australia, we encourage you to apply and be part of this important establishment phase.

Monash University seeks applicants for this opportunity who are able to demonstrate present valid and current Australian work rights.
