Join us as a Senior Adviser - Governance and play a pivotal role in supporting the highest decision-making bodies of Monash, a modern, global, research-intensive University delivering education and research excellence in Australia and across the Indo-Pacific. This is your opportunity to influence outcomes through best-practice governance, and work at the heart of Monash’s leadership.
As a trusted liaison between Council committees, senior management, and other Monash colleagues, you’ll deliver end-to-end governance services that uphold integrity, ensure compliance, and promote efficiency. From managing approval pathways to providing authoritative advice on governance frameworks, your expertise will help to drive continuous improvement and contribute to governance capability across the University.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and coordinate governance activities for Council committees with efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and oversee governance calendars and reporting schedules aligned with statutory obligations.
- Provide strategic advice on governance frameworks, policies, and compliance.
- Champion digital governance platforms and optimise processes for enhanced effectiveness and efficiency.
- Prepare high-quality reports and briefings for senior leadership, synthesising complex information into actionable insights.
What we’re looking for:
- Postgraduate qualifications or extensive experience in governance within a complex environment.
- Exceptional organisational, communication, and relationship management skills.
- The proven ability to hold information in confidence and handle sensitive matters with discretion and professional judgment.
- Advanced digital literacy and experience with governance software tools.
