The Opportunity

Monash Animal Research Platform (MARP) is searching for a dynamic Business Operations Manager to shape the future of our platform and strengthen our long-term sustainability.

In this pivotal role, you will be the trusted business and financial adviser to the MARP Director, driving performance, enhancing capability, and ensuring our operations run with precision, transparency and purpose. Managing a $23M budget and leading a high-performing team, you’ll oversee the business systems, administrative functions and financial frameworks that keep MARP at the forefront of excellence.

What You’ll Lead

  • Strategic business and financial initiatives that shape MARP’s direction and performance
  • Complex operational, administrative and financial functions across the platform
  • Budgeting, forecasting, reporting and performance monitoring with strong oversight
  • Continuous process improvement, quality control and service optimisation
  • High-impact projects, policies and compliance processes that support organisational success
  • Strong internal and external partnerships, including contract negotiation and management

What You Bring

  • Extensive management experience and qualifications in business or financial operations
  • A proven ability to lead teams that deliver meticulous, high-quality work and exceptional customer service
  • Superior analytical, conceptual, planning and communication skills
  • Expertise in strategic financial management, systems improvement and operational oversight
  • The relationship-building finesse to influence, negotiate and partner across a complex organisation
  • Advanced digital literacy and confidence with modern business management systems
