The Opportunity
The Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication (MCN) is seeking a proactive, motivated and highly organised Administrative Officer to support the operations of Victoria’s premier nanofabrication facility. Be the Backbone of a Cutting-Edge Research Centre
In this key role, you will provide a wide range of high-quality administrative services that keep MCN running efficiently and professionally. Every day will bring variety as you:
- Manage complex diaries, coordinate meetings and organise travel
- Be the first point of contact, greeting visitors, handling enquiries and providing outstanding customer service
- Draft polished communications, reports and correspondence
- Order consumables and support procurement processes
- Support events including workshops, conferences and functions
- Reconcile expenses and ensure accurate data management
- Research and interpret policies, helping colleagues and stakeholders navigate processes
- Contribute to project administration and continuous improvement initiatives
Your work will directly support scientists, engineers, industry partners and students working on cutting-edge technologies that shape the future.

- Sound judgment, attention to detail and problem-solving capability
- High computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Substantial relevant skills and experience
- An understanding of the University environment and its dynamic research context.
