The Opportunity

The Centre for Drug Candidate Optimisation (CDCO) is seeking a Research Officer to support preclinical drug development activities.

In this role, you will conduct a range of in vivo and some in vitro experiments, maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, analyse data, update operating procedures, and assist with research administration. You will also help train staff in selected laboratory techniques and ensure a safe and compliant research environment.

Working closely with the CDCO team, you will deliver high-quality research services and support ongoing project needs in line with established protocols and standards.

  • 2. Demonstrated ability and hands-on experience with live rodent species (rats and mice) in a research environment
  • 3. Demonstrated ability in conducting in vitro biological assays in appropriate containment facilities
  • 4. High-level analytical, technical, data analysis and research skills and a demonstrated capacity to develop and implement effective technical and research processes and systems
  • 8. Proven ability to adhere to AEC-approved ethics protocols, standards and guidelines, including a thorough understanding of confidentiality, privacy and research ethics principles as required
  • 11. Demonstrated awareness of the principles of confidentiality, privacy and information handling.
