The Opportunity
The Senior Industrial Design Officer is responsible for advancing the Design Health Collab’s strategic objectives by enabling high-quality industrial design capability across programs, initiatives and flagship projects, including Micro-X. The role exists to strengthen design-led innovation, enhance collaboration with stakeholders, and support the effective delivery of design services and project outcomes within a dynamic research and innovation environment.
In this role, you will coordinate complex administrative activities, manage schedules, support committees, and oversee project workflows to meet agreed standards and timeframes. You will deliver high-quality client service, manage data and reporting, provide specialist administrative advice, support governance and compliance processes, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and build strong working relationships while maintaining regulatory, privacy and OHS requirements. The initial duration is for three months with potential for extension in line with the funding agreement.
As the successful candidate, you will possess excellent administration skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective operational processes and systems, alongside strong organisational skills and a clear sense of ownership, enabling you to prioritise work, manage time effectively and meet competing deadlines. You will bring a strong commitment to excellence in customer service and a hands-on approach to service delivery, supported by well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities. You will be able to work effectively as part of a team while also exercising a high level of independence, judgement and initiative. You will demonstrate highly developed written, verbal and visual communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders and negotiate positive outcomes to complex issues. You will also have highly developed computer literacy, including experience with business and design software, with proficiency in SolidWorks highly regarded.
