Remuneration: $140,157 - $148,769 pa HEW Level 09 (plus 17% employer superannuation)

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Director, Indigenous Employment, the Senior Adviser, Indigenous Employment leads key initiatives that shape Monash’s Indigenous employment strategy. You’ll drive the implementation of the Indigenous Employment Policy and Procedure, the Indigenous Recruitment Strategy, and support the establishment of the Monash Local Indigenous Employment and Economic Council.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide senior‑level strategic advice, analysis and reporting
  • Lead policy development, governance processes and major Indigenous employment projects
  • Establish and manage the Local Indigenous Employment and Economic Council
  • Build strong partnerships across the University and with external stakeholders
  • Oversee research, data insights and continuous improvement activities

About You

You bring deep expertise in policy, strategy and Indigenous employment, along with the ability to influence at executive levels. You’ll thrive in a complex environment where your leadership drives meaningful change.

To succeed, you’ll have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications or extensive senior‑level experience
  • Strong experience in policy design, strategic advisory work and project leadership
  • Exceptional relationship‑building, negotiation and communication skills
  • High‑level analytical capability and the ability to deliver innovative solutions
  • Understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community political context
