The Opportunity
The School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant (Level A) to support the Wiser Health Care group, based at 553 St Kilda Road, Melbourne. This role provides high-quality research support across a diverse portfolio of health services research, implementation science and evidence synthesis projects.
Working closely with the Deputy Director and a multidisciplinary research team, you will contribute to complex research activities including data collection and management, quantitative and qualitative analysis, systematic reviews, ethics submissions and preparation of reports and manuscripts for publication. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career researcher to further develop their research skills in a leading public health environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Research Assistant, you will:
- Conduct research activities under limited supervision as part of a collaborative research team
- Contribute to data collection, management and quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Support systematic reviews, including literature searching, screening and appraisal
- Assist with ethics submissions, reports and manuscript preparation
- Undertake research administration and coordination tasks supporting project delivery
- Participate in research meetings, seminars and professional activities
- Provide research support and advice to postgraduate students under guidance
- Contribute to teaching-related materials connected to research projects as required
About You
You are a motivated and detail-oriented research professional who enjoys contributing to collaborative, evidence-driven research.
You will bring:
- An honours degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent research experience
- Strong analytical, organisational and time management skills
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
- Experience conducting or supporting systematic reviews using platforms such as RevMan
- Familiarity with health databases, survey tools such as Qualtrics and qualitative software such as NVivo
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- A strong commitment to confidentiality, research integrity and quality
- Ability to work collegially within multidisciplinary research teams
Experience in implementation science or health services research is highly regarded.
