The Opportunity
The School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant (Level A) to support the Australia and New Zealand Musculoskeletal Clinical Trials Network (ANZMUSC) within the Musculoskeletal Health Unit and Wiser Health Care Group, based at 553 St Kilda Road, Melbourne.
This role provides research delivery, coordination and research-enabling support essential to the effective operation of a nationally significant clinical trials network. Working closely with senior researchers, clinicians and stakeholders, you will contribute to priority-driven research programs through governance support, evidence reviews, data collection and research communication activities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Research Assistant, you will:
- Conduct research activities under limited supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Support coordination of research governance, meetings, committees and network activities
- Maintain research documentation and contribute to reporting and communication outputs
- Assist with data collection, data management, evidence synthesis and literature reviews
- Support priority research programs and network initiatives across ANZMUSC
- Participate in meetings, seminars and professional activities
- Provide research support and advice to students, clinicians and collaborators under guidance
- Undertake research administration and other duties as directed
About You
You are an organised and motivated early-career research professional who enjoys working in collaborative, networked research environments.
You will bring:
- An honours degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent research experience
- Strong planning, coordination and organisational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities with sound judgement and initiative
- Experience supporting research activities such as literature reviews, data collection or analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to confidentiality, privacy and research integrity
- Confidence working collegially within multidisciplinary teams
- Interest in musculoskeletal health, clinical trials and collaborative research networks
