The Opportunity

Join a dynamic academic team delivering a highly regarded Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) program that prepares graduates for contemporary professional practice. The Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Education Focused) contributes to the coordination, delivery and development of a curriculum centred on occupation and health, therapeutic interventions, and the application of research to practice. Teaching is delivered through workshops, tutorials, e-learning, simulation and practice education, supporting the development of the knowledge, skills and professional capabilities required for effective, client-centred care.

At Level B (Lecturer), the role includes active engagement in teaching and curriculum delivery, including the preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars, development of teaching materials, assessment and student consultation. The position contributes to curriculum enhancement through evidence-informed approaches while also participating in scholarly and research activities aligned with the discipline. This includes contributing to research teams, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, undertaking peer review, supervising honours and higher degree by research students, and presenting research findings at conferences.

At Level C (Senior Lecturer), the role builds on these expectations with a stronger emphasis on leadership, including coordinating programs or major areas of study, leading curriculum design and innovation, mentoring academic staff, contributing to academic governance and demonstrating national-level recognition in scholarly outputs, alongside broader engagement across School, Faculty and University committees and activities.

This position requires a strong foundation in occupational therapy theory and expertise in practice areas such as physical, neurological or orthopaedic rehabilitation, community-based practice, psychosocial disability, or aged care. Applicants will hold a doctoral or masters qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent standing, with current AHPRA registration. Demonstrated experience in higher education teaching, curriculum development and scholarly contribution is essential, supported by strong interpersonal, organisational and collaborative skills. An understanding of industry expectations and employability outcomes and the ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues and external partners, will also be highly regarded.

If you are seeking an opportunity to contribute to high-quality education within a collaborative academic environment, we encourage you to apply.

Please indicate your preference for Level B or Level C in your cover letter, as appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
