The Opportunity
Do you want to work at the cutting edge of lifestyle health, wearable technologies and AI-driven data science?
An exciting opportunity is available to join the Stamatakis Group, a world-leading, translational research program advancing how movement, sleep and everyday behaviours shape cardiovascular, brain and mental health.
Based at BrainPark, this role places you at the heart of innovative research focussed on real-world solutions for preventing and managing chronic disease. You’ll work to support internationally recognised researchers, contributing across the full research lifecycle, from study design and ethics approval through to data analysis, manuscript submission and stakeholder engagement.
Why this role is different
As a Research Officer, you’ll play a central, hands-on role in projects that integrate wearable technologies, digital health platforms and advanced analytics, including AI. You’ll help a team to translate complex data into meaningful health insights, support high-quality publications and grant proposals, and ensure smooth day-to-day research operations. Executive support duties will include meeting coordination, diary management, correspondence, travel, report preparation, and general administrative support
What you’ll be doing
- Coordinating research projects, participant recruitment and data collection
- Managing wearable devices and digital health platforms
- Supporting ethics, governance, grants and financial administration
- Contributing to manuscripts, figures and journal submissions
- Driving continuous improvement and adoption of AI productivity tools by the rest of the research team
- Supporting research students and fostering collaborative research culture
- Executive assistance to Research Directors
- Administration across both research and operational tasks
- Support day to day administration and follow-up actions
- Coordinate travel, expenses, and purchasing
What we’re looking for
You’ll bring strong organisational, administrative, and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in lifestyle, behavioural or health research. Experience in research administration and/or executive administration, data handling, or wearable technologies is highly regarded, along with curiosity, initiative and a collaborative mindset. You’ll also bring excellent organisational and communication skills, strong calendar and task management abilities, the capacity to support academic leaders, and flexibility to move between research and executive administration tasks.
Make an impact
This is your chance to support research that directly influences population health, health policy, clinical practice and everyday lives, while growing your skills in a dynamic, supportive academic environment.
