The Opportunity
Monash Innovation is seeking an accomplished and strategic leader to join its high-performing team as Head of Commercialisation – Life Sciences. This pivotal role leads the commercialisation of a diverse and exciting portfolio of life sciences technologies, spanning medicine, therapeutics, medtech and pharmaceutical discoveries. With deep expertise across intellectual property assessment, patent and commercial strategy development, deal negotiation and transaction oversight, the role drives the translation of world-class research into real-world impact through licensing, partnerships and the creation of spin-out companies. As a steward for science and innovation, the Head of Commercialisation plays a key role in shaping commercial strategy, advising senior stakeholders, and embedding entrepreneurial thinking across the University.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Commercialisation, the role provides leadership to a highly skilled team of commercialisation professionals, fostering excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will leverage their outstanding interpersonal skills to build and manage strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders across academia, industry, government and investors, leading complex negotiations and securing high-quality commercial outcomes and investment.
