The Opportunity

The Department of Social Work within the School of Primary and Allied Health Care is seeking to appoint a Lecturer to contribute to a highly regarded academic environment through the delivery of engaging teaching, curriculum development and research activities. This role plays an important part in supporting the department's academic and professional objectives, delivering high-quality learning experiences that prepare future social workers for practice across diverse settings. The position offers the opportunity to coordinate subjects, develop innovative teaching materials, supervise student research projects and contribute to the ongoing growth of the Social Work discipline.

Working across teaching, research and professional engagement, this position contributes to lectures, tutorials, workshops, assessment, student consultation and field-based learning. The role also supports research activity through scholarship, publications and collaboration with colleagues, students and external organisations. With a focus on student success, it fosters an inclusive learning environment while contributing to curriculum enhancement and contemporary social work education.

We are seeking a qualified Social Worker with relevant practice experience and either a doctoral qualification or progress towards one. The role requires strong teaching and curriculum development capability, including delivery of direct practice skills, alongside a commitment to research and scholarship. Well-developed interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively across education and service sectors and experience engaging diverse student cohorts is essential. Experience in disability, alcohol and other drug services, or children and families practice will also be advantageous.

Join a collaborative academic community and help shape the next generation of social work professionals—this is a fantastic opportunity and we look forward to receiving your application.
