The Opportunity

The Transfusion Research Unit (TRU) which sits under the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine is looking for a Research Officer.

Reporting to the Registry Project Manager and Clinical Registries Lead, you will provide high-quality research and administrative services that drive the delivery of vital clinical registry projects. This role focuses entirely on operational excellence, carrying no supervisory or financial delegations.

In this fast-paced role, you will coordinate daily project tasks, manage meeting logistics, and draft reports for key stakeholders and funding bodies. You will also manage human research ethics and governance applications, liaise closely with participating hospitals, and handle diverse stakeholder queries. Crucially, you will ensure strict compliance with research methodologies, protocols, and registry regulatory requirements while keeping abreast of new developments in the field.

To thrive, you need exceptional organizational skills to manage competing priorities, a sharp eye for compliance, and strong communication skills to build relationships across our research network.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong educational background or substantial relevant skills and work experience. The role requires a degree in a relevant field with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
