The Opportunity
Reporting to the Vice-President (Growth and International) and working in close partnership with the Executive Director, Student Recruitment and Admissions, the Director, Capability, Operations and Performance plays a pivotal strategic role in shaping the operational backbone of Monash’s global student recruitment and admissions enterprise. You will lead the design and continuous improvement of operational frameworks that underpin recruitment performance across domestic and international channels. This is a strategically significant role with broad organisational reach.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead capability uplift initiatives across recruitment and admissions teams, ensuring staff have the tools, knowledge, and frameworks to perform at their best
- Oversee operational governance, quality assurance, and performance reporting to inform strategic decision-making
- Drive cross-functional alignment between recruitment, admissions, TNE development, and broader university stakeholders
- Identify systemic improvement opportunities and translate them into actionable, measurable programs
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will lead the creation of a robust framework designed to drive transformation, operational efficiency, and data-informed decision-making. You will lead a specialist analytics and operations team to deliver high-quality, validated, decision-grade insights and automated dashboards—equipping recruitment leaders, faculties, and international campuses with a single source of truth for market trends, pipeline performance and enrolment targets.

- Proven track record building capability frameworks and embedding performance cultures within large teams
- Strong analytical acumen with experience translating data into operational strategy
- Experience navigating the policy and compliance landscape of Australian higher education admissions

- Ability to lead through change and deliver outcomes within fixed-term programme timeframes
