The Opportunity
Join Monash University as a Research Assistant and contribute to research that is improving respiratory healthcare. Working within the Australian and New Zealand Respiratory Audit Program (ANZRAP) and the Chronic Respiratory Disease Research Group, you will support high-impact research, collaborate with clinicians and healthcare leaders, and help generate evidence that informs clinical practice, policy and international care standards.
This position will be responsible for supporting the coordination and delivery of ANZRAP research activities, including developing clinical care standards, audit datasets and REDCap data collection platforms, analysing audit data and linked datasets, and preparing research reports, conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications. You will contribute to evidence synthesis and research translation, support the development of research protocols, ethics and governance documentation, and coordinate meetings and stakeholder engagement activities. The role also involves collaborating with multidisciplinary research teams, contributing to research-related materials where appropriate, and supporting a range of research projects led by Professor Smallwood and the Chronic Respiratory Disease Research Group.
To be successful in this role you will have a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline together with demonstrated experience in statistical analysis, research data management and scholarly writing, including a track record of peer-reviewed publications. You will bring excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams. Experience with research governance, ethics processes, REDCap, statistical software and Microsoft Office, along with a strong understanding of confidentiality and information management principles, will enable you to thrive in this role.
